About Me
Hi, I am Leela McCarthy-Jones, welcome to Miss Sapphire Skin, my aesthetics clinic with a friendly, personalised and medically professional approach.
I am a Senior Anaesthetic Practitioner working at Manchester’s busiest, most prestigious major trauma hospital, where I have worked for 12 years, and am also an aesthetics specialist in my own private clinics. Originally from Wrexham, I began working at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital aged 19, working up through the clinical ranks of wards and operating theatres. I have been promoted throughout my years within the NHS and am now Deputy Anaesthetic Team Leader specialising in Emergency Care.
During my long career with the NHS, I have undertaken extensive additional training including BSc in Operating Department Practice, BSc in High Dependency Care, Pharmacology, Intravenous Access, Immediate Life Support, Advanced Life Support.

I have always had a keen interest in beauty and after completing my Beauty Therapy NVQ Level 2 in the evening as a hobby, I decided to combine my medical expertise with my love of beauty and embark on a career in aesthetics.
I have never looked back, and now love being able to support my patients to achieve beautiful results through accurate, caring, safe and bespoke treatments.

I’m passionate about giving my patients a thoughtful and patient-centric experience, particularly driven by my own personal experience at the start of my aesthetics journey. I chose my clinician carefully as the treatment was a huge deal to me but to the clinician, it soon became apparent that I was just another quick Botox appointment. In and out quickly, I felt uninformed, rushed and uneasy throughout. This experienced shaped the way I treat my patients. I never want any of my patients to feel the way I did that day so I allow plenty of time for consultations and first-time appointments just to chat and get to know each other, answer questions, gain trust and share knowledge. This is how I can be sure to get it right for my patients, and make sure their whole experience is wonderful, including treatment itself.

Not just treating women, I offer male focused treatments from a discreet clinic location (not a beauty salon full of ladies which can be off-putting for some!). I work from three clinic locations, offering flexibility in location and appointment times, accommodating my patients where and when I can.
When I’m not practising on the trauma unit or treating patients you can find me spending time with my family – my husband and children aged 7, 9 and 10. When I’m not being a busy mum I enjoy the gym, shopping and travelling. I’m interested in self-care and well-being, so love books of that topic when I do get a little time out.
I really look forward to welcoming you to Miss Sapphire Skin. Whatever your wishes, be it rejuvenation, enhancement or to get that sparkle and confidence in yourself, I will help you achieve beautiful results and feel radiant.
